What is Usability Testing?

Usability Testing is watching and recording students and prospective students (via picture-in-picture) actually using your website to see where you can improve

How does it help you?

By determining what prospective students want, you can make your website dramatically easier to use. Increased usability is directly tied to increased bottom-line impact from your website.

Usability Testing allows you to:

  • Solicit feedback from prospects when they are actually interacting with your website and making decisions
  • Observe prospect behavior more accurately than via a survey or focus group. People often do not accurately recall their prior actions or motivations when asked for feedback after the fact
  • Validate or dispel assumptions of how prospects and students actually use your website
  • Discover usability issues otherwise missed due to lack of objectivity

Usability Test

  • Recorded, picture-in-picture sessions of people actually using your website (each lasting approximately 1 hour)
  • Post-test summary briefs - Summaries after each individual test about the user, and the issues they encountered
  • Recommendations Report - A prioritized report of recommendations based on feedback collected during the test.
